This site uses Drupal and is based on a set of templates and modules defined by the EDIT team at the Natural History Museum, London.
The objective of this website is to act as an information portal and a catalyst for networking between researchers and users. The focus is the biodiversity, ecology and conservation of the diverse ecosystems of Piauí and Ceará. These are two neighbouring states in the northern part of Brazil’s Northeast Region characterized by highly seasonal climates.
The website is currently managed by botanists and mycologists at universities in Ceará and Piauí but the scope is intended to be general for biodiversity and contributions are welcomed from researchers in zoology, entomology, ecology, palaeontology, conservation science and other relevant sciences.
By linking information on the biodiversity and improving accessibility to it, the website team hopes to stimulate further research by the scientific community and help conservation scientists and administrators to find basic information needed for practical objectives.
O objetivo desta Website é disponibilizar um portal de informação e um catalisador para o intercambio em rede entre os investigadores e usuários. O foco é a biodiversidade, ecologia e conservação de diversos ecossistemas dos Estados do Piauí e Ceará. Estes dois Estados localizam-se na região setentrional da Região Nordeste do Brasil e apresentam climas altamente sazonais.
O BIONOSET está sendo atualmente administrado por botânicos e micologistas em universidades no Ceará e Piauí, entretanto, pretende-se que seja um site que contemple mais áreas de estudo sobre biodiversidade, tais como, zoologia, entomologia, ecologia, paleontologia, ciência da conservação e ciências afins. As contribuições das diversas áreas serão bem vindas.
Unindo informação e facilidade no acesso, espera-se estimular a comunidade científica e usuários em geral a utilizarem esta Website.
